Israel wants to buy more U.S products: Journal Star

Representatives from Israel were in Peoria on Monday with a message for area companies: We want to do business. “The U.S. business sector has not discovered Israel,” said Uriel Lynn, president of the Federation of the Israeli Chambers of Commerce, speaking to members of the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce in Downtown Peoria. 

Lynn, and Dan Carmely, the federation’s vice president, said opportunities exist for central Illinois firms that may not be doing export business at the present time.

“We want to buy more from you. We like U.S.-made products,” said Carmely, pointing out that his country has 200 shopping malls.

With more than 5,000 members, the federation is Israel’s largest business organization, a consortium that stands ready to help individual businesses engage in trade with the Middle Eastern nation of 8 million people, he said.
