Enhancing Trade Between the United States and Israel
The Israel-America Chamber of Commerce, established in 1965, is a voluntary organization of companies and individuals, dedicated to the promotion and enhancement of two-way trade and investment between Israel and the United States. The Chairperson of the Chamber is Ofra Strauss, Chairperson of Strauss Group; Daniel Shapiro U.S. Ambassador to Israel, serves as our Honorary Chairman
Our Chamber, (AmCham Israel), the largest bi-national Chamber in Israel, is the exclusive local representative of the world's largest business federation - the Washington-based U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the umbrella organization of 3,000 local chambers (incorporating more than six million businesses and organizations). Our Chamber is a member of the European and the Asia-Pacific councils of American Chambers of Commerce, linking chambers, executives and business entities throughout Europe and Pacific Asia.
The Chamber is the voice of American companies operating in Israel, designed to promote, expand and enhance bi-lateral trade. We facilitate networking opportunities with key business and government leaders in Israel and in the U.S. In addition, we maintain ongoing contacts with American-Israel chambers throughout the United States. This enables us to be updated on all trade and investment issues. Close government networking ensures contact with U.S. and Israeli authorities on commerce, economic and legal issues.
Our Objectives:
- To promote trade and investment between the United States and Israel.
- To be a direct liaison with the Chamber of Commerce of the United States and other chambers of commerce and business organizations, and to express the views of the local American business community to public and private interests in the United States.
- To provide a forum in which American business executives in Israel and Israeli business executives with American interests may identify, discuss and pursue common interests regarding their activities.
- To work with individuals and organizations in Israel on matters of mutual interest.
