Portable system including a hand-held meter and disposable acetylcholinesterase (AChe) test strips that will provide the user with information about acetylcholinesterase activity
The company's ChemDx system is a rapid, portable system including a hand-held meter and disposable acetylcholinesterase (AChe) test strips that will provide the user with information about acetylcholinesterase activity from a finger-stick capillary blood sample or venous whole blood sample. The test will provide a quantitative value for acetylcholinesterase activity normalized to hemoglobin in the sample as Units per graph of Hemoglobin (U/g Hgb), as well as display an interpretation of the activity level versus a population value for normal activity (% of normal) and indicate if the acetylcholinesterase activity falls in the normal population reference range. Test quantitation will be performed from a firmware-stored calibration curve. A Meter Check Strip will be used to verify the proper functionality of the Meter only (power system, ambient temperature circuit, Hgb circuit, AChe circuit). Check Strips will be provided with the Meter. The product is designed so that it can be handled when the user has limited dexterity due to wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
