What you should know before negotiating

English is the language of Israeli business culture.
Business cards are considered important and should be printed in English. As an added touch, some visitors have the reverse side printed in Hebrew

Promotional material does not need to be translated into Hebrew.

Given the diverse nature of the population, business practices may reflect North American, European, Russian, or other cultural influences.

In Israel, businesspeople operating on an international level tend to be worldly.

Expect business to be straightforward and emphasize the "bottom line."

Although there are still some collectives, there is an emphasis on individual initiative and achievement and a strong belief in independent decision-making, whether for business or social purposes.

In Israel, there are many women in business. Moreover, this society promotes equality between men and women, and there is compulsory army training for both sexes.

Most Israelis tend to be emotional negotiators. It's also acceptable for you to exhibit this behaviour in a meeting.
Israelis often tend to be opinionated. You don't have to feel compelled, however, to openly agree with everything they say.

Israel is a democratic and egalitarian culture built on competition. Despite inevitable inequalities, equal rights are guaranteed to all.
