Wild Palm (Kithul) Treacle is a type of sweet syrup extracted from the sap of ‘caryota urens’ palm (fish tail Palm).
Replacement Pure Kithul Syrup has a very low Glycemic Index (GI) value among sweeteners. Foods with Lower GI values are good for the human health & it minimizes the threat even for diabetes patients. In Sri Lanka it is used as a sweetener. It is consumed with tea, curd, yoghurt, hot cakes, pan cakes, toasted bread & bakery industry. In Japan it is used as alternative to Maple syrup in addition to above usage.
