The consortium was formed in January 2013, gathers 2,000 tons of excellent honey and gathers more than 600 producers linked by eight institutions of the Southwest, diverse in their productive career, which enriches their productive potential and versatility. Companies with over three decades are combined with excellent organizations, finding common goals which provide diversity and freedom of thought, financial effort, community building, regional engagement and a sector representation. The productive area of the Export Consortium Honey is the outhwest Province of Buenos Aires belongs to the most important honey Basin of Argentina and all its production is destined to be exported. While most surfaces are represented by meadows, there are definite areas of native forest and in less scale, areas of mountains and sea coast that make different phytogeographic subregions, enriching the spectrum of honeys produced in the territory. Pollen markers of our honeys are from the species like Eucalyptus sp., Centaurea sp. (starthistle) and Perennial Wall-rocket (yellow flower), which are mainly light honey, aroma and mild flavor with a slight mouthfeel. Dark honey it can be obtained from the mountain areas, which varies in different colors of amber, and its aromas and flavors are more intense. Also, because of the semiarid climate, it is characterized by low moisture, achieving a quality product with little or no chance of fermentation. The honey is obtained from the nectar of flowers in which, besides predominant plant species mentioned above, are highlighted others as Melilotus sp., Brassica, Prosopis sp., Condalia microphylla, Larrea divaricata, Carduus sp., Grasses, Helianthus annuus Medicago sp., Tamarix sp. Lotus sp. etc. production by subregion. Called as flower honey, honey or just mixed honey, are actually "lots of flowers" honey, although there also can be found some "one flower", mainly formed by marker species. In our production can be found a wide range of colors, from 15 to 90mm deep. White; Extra Light Amber, Light Amber, and Amber. Potential partners: Food industry companies producing dry foods (snack bars, energy bars, candies, honey-roasted bars, honey bread) and some other food using honey.
