Organic Ketchup, Organic Mayonaise, Organic Mustard and Organic Sauces

The company was founded in 1868 in New York by two brothers who launched production of condiments from a small grocery shop and soon expanded all across America. In 2014, Mario C. Bauer and Christoph Callies set out to create their own ketchup. Their initial research led them to the 153 year-old brand under which they founded the present-day Company. Together with their team they carry on with the old company’s tradition by cooking sauces with only the finest, freshest ingredients.

Since Mario & Christoph together with their partners Henry McGovern (formerly AmRest), Clive Schlee (Itsu, formerly PRET), Sinclair Beecham (PRET), Andreas Karlsson (Sticks & Sushi), Enrico Sodano & Philipp Zinggl (both Vapiano) as well as Ehren Ashkenaz, Fritz Schweiger and William Bray took over the traditional US ketchup brand and brought it back to life, the startup has written an impressive growth story. In a short time, the company developed from an exclusive premium supplier for the upscale gastronomy & hotel industry to a multi-channel player represented on three continents with successful online shops and export business in the Middle East, China and the USA.

In the meantime, in addition to the Organic Ketchup, which has won several Great Taste Awards, and the Organic Chilli Ketchup, there are now also four new organic sauces from the brand for the retail channel – from curry ketchup and Sweet 7 Chilli Sauce to mayonnaise made with eggs from free-range chickens.

In 2020 the brand, which was born in the USA in the 19th century, returned to its roots in Rochester, New York, and thus to the American market with JV partner Matt Betters, a descendant of the original main shareholder. Now the company, in a joint venture with William Bray and local investor Man On Li, is set to conquer the fast-growing ketchup market in Asia.
