Medical device company offering innovative technology and products for laserablation cancer treatment
Cancer is not one disease and each patient is different. The need for treatment alternatives is huge.
Existing procedures, such as surgery, radiation and chemo-therapy, are time-costly for the hospital and burdensome for the patient.
Systemic immune therapy, using the mechanisms of the immune system has developed over the past 10 years and has proven to be effective. However it often brings several side-effects.
This opens up for gentle and safe laser ablation treatment with TRANBERG Thermal Therapy System and the imILT-method, with the potential to reach a systemic immune response.
This is a Medical device company offering innovative technology and products for laser ablation cancer treatment, based on research from Lund University Hospital.
The HQ is in Lund but there are subsidiaries in Germany and U.S.
Its products are CE-marked, FDA-approved products, based on patented technology, for MR-guided soft tissue laser ablation treatment.
TRANBERG-products are used for:
- FLA/LITT thermal ablation therapy targeting prostate cancer and neuro/spine treatment
- imILT® thermal therapy protocol resulting in immunological changes with a potential to activate a systemic immune response against remaining tumors targeting pancreatic cancer and skin cancer, suitable for most solid tumors
The company offers Integrated Navigation and Ablation Systems for Image Guided High Precision Ablation Therapies that is a gentle, safe and precise treatment alternative, with the potential to stimulate the immune system.
Its products have the following advantages:
TRANBERG®|Thermal Therapy System advantages:
- Technology fully compatible w MR, US and CT image guidance
- Small, light (18kg) and powerful mobile laser unit (CE and FDA approved)
- Portfolio of disposable fiber optic non-cooled laser applicators (CE and FDA approved)
- With new product for MR thermometry (2020) (FDA and CE pending)
- A versatile platform for image guided high precision ablations
Laser ablation treatment is used for:
- Soft tissue treatment.
- Laser fiber is intertied into the tumor. The tissue is heated to 55-60C during 1-3 min for total cell destruction.
- Suitable for indications such as malignant tumors in prostate and brain as well as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), epilepsy and vascular malformations
imILT® works with the same principle as thermal ablation treatment, but with lower temperature and longer treatment time.
It's used for treatment of malignant tumors and late stages of cancer
-
Activated cytotoxic T cells home in on and kill tumor cells throughout the body. Setting an immunological memory.
-
Heating of tumor cells to approx 46C during
30 min. -
Lyced cells release tumor specific antigens exposing them to the immune system resulting in an activation.
